A grandmother was arrested and charged Tuesday with driving more than five times the legal limit – while her 5-year-old granddaughter was in the vehicle.
According to online blood alcohol level statistics, someone at her weight – 180 pounds, according to her ticket – would have to consume more than 12 drinks in several hours to register that high. There is a possibility of coma and death due to respiratory arrest.
After drinking that much, I'm surprised she could even find the car!
Or get her kid in the carseat,
Those damn straps!
You're right, abacass. I have a hard time with the car seat stone-cold sober! Can't imagine trying to fasten it drunk.
I bet the 5-year old probably strapped herself in the car seat (assuming she was strapped in)
Now that's a granny to drink you under the table!
I was thinking the same thing. I definitely wouldn't want to drink against her in a drinking contest.
In her defense, she drinks that much because it helps her balance problem.
What balance problem? I thought she used a walker ;-)
'Ol Johnnie's not nearly as reliable as Jose. :P
Holy shots, Batman! I bet she had one heck of a hangover when she woke up in jail.
It was medicinal alcohol.
holy crap!! That was one of the more fun jobs in the lab, running the alcohol levels, have personally seen levels greater with conscious patients. They build up a tolerance. Incredible.
